Altar Servers
Serving as an altar server is a wonderful way for young people to deepen their faith and contribute to the life of their parish community. It's an opportunity to experience first hand the beauty and sacredness of the Mass, and to play a vital role in its celebration.
As an altar server, you will have the privilege of assisting Fr Adrian during the Mass. This involves carrying sacred vessels; lighting candles; and performing other duties as needed. By serving at the altar, you will learn about the Mass and the Catholic faith in a more meaningful way.
Serving also provides a sense of belonging and community. It's a chance to meet other young people who share your faith and to form lasting friendships. You will also have the opportunity to develop important skills, such as responsibility, teamwork, and leadership.
The Guild of St Stephen is an International Organisation of Altar Servers founded in 1904. It aims to encourage the highest standards of serving at the Church's liturgy and to provide altar servers with a greater understanding of what they are doing, whilst offering support and encouragement.
