How do I become a Catholic?
Often there are people who wonder about becoming a member of the Catholic Church as adults. It may be that they were brought up in another religion or with little or no faith background but now they wonder about being Roman Catholic.
We would be delighted to respond to any enquiries about learning more about what it means to be a Catholic.
We would first want to say that if you are happy in your own faith or religion and do not want to change then we absolutely respect your feelings. We believe that everyone has the right to pursue their own beliefs or have none – we believe God wants every person to be free to make their own choices in life.
To begin with it is usually best to have a chat with Father Adrian, the priest here in Billingham.
We offer a programme for people to explore what it means to be a Catholic and find out more about the teachings of the Catholic Church. At present we meet on a Wednesday after the 7.00pm Mass (about 7.45pm) in the Sacristy at Holy Rosary Church, Sidlaw Road. You would be welcome to join us.
If you would like to know more, contact Father Adrian.
