Readers

Reading at one of our churches is a privilege rooted in faith and tradition. It involves proclaiming the sacred Word of God to a gathered community, a responsibility that has been carried out for centuries. As a reader, one becomes a vessel for divine inspiration, sharing the timeless wisdom and teachings of the Bible. This role offers a unique opportunity to connect with the congregation on a spiritual level, fostering a sense of unity and devotion. The privilege of reading at a Catholic church is a testament to the enduring power of faith and the importance of sharing God's message with others.

Readers are named on a rota at a Church of their choice.

Readers offer their services to read the Word of God at both Sunday Mass and mid-week. Training is available along with the opportunity to attend a day of reflection each year with other readers.
